Black Panther frustrates console players but remains key

One of the most mentioned names in the discussion was Black Panther. With over 100 likes on a post calling for his removal, it’s clear many players find him tough to deal with. Console players especially say he’s nearly impossible to react to. OOO described him as “unreactable” and hard to turn and shoot fast enough.

But Nent pushed back. He argued that Black Panther fills an important role: that of an aggressive flanker who forces supports and backline players to think carefully about positioning and cooldowns. Removing him wouldn’t solve the issue, just move it to the next hero like Spider Man or Psylocke. Panther is strong but fair with good counterplay.

Balance exists through hero bans and player adaptation. The real issue might not be Black Panther’s power, but how readable and satisfying he is to play with and against.

Black Widow can’t be buffed or nerfed safely

Another top contender for removal was Black Widow. She consistently sits low on tier lists, often has the lowest win rate, and doesn’t bring a lot to most team comps. What makes her removal more likely is how hard she is to balance. Buff her too much, and she becomes oppressive. Nerf her even slightly, and she becomes irrelevant.

Nent proposed that Widow needs a full rework, including scrapping her batons and replacing them with pistols or folding her Punisher team up ability into her base kit. One player even suggested a mechanic where each body shot increases her damage by 1 percent, rewarding consistency with a potential one shot headshot after several kills.

Still, Widow is a high skill hero with a steep learning curve. Most players never unlock her full potential, making her less rewarding to play and harder to justify keeping in the roster unchanged.

Squirrel Girl splits the player base the most

No hero sparked more mixed feelings than Squirrel Girl. She’s wildly popular among new players because of her easy damage output and forgiving mechanics, but high level players rarely use her. She gets called out for having low skill ceiling, spammable abilities, and an ultimate that’s easy to counter.

Despite all that, she’s also an important bridge for new players learning the game. One suggestion was to reposition her as a demolitionist type great against shields like those from Emma Frost and Groot. That could give her a unique identity instead of just being “the easy damage hero.”

Wolverine was praised as essential for preventing tank heavy comps from taking over the meta. He’s annoying for tanks but helps maintain team composition diversity.

Scarlet Witch, on the other hand, might be the most forgettable hero in the game. Her ult is weak, her mobility is limited, and her overall impact is low. While she’s not broken, she doesn’t bring anything other heroes can’t already do better. If one hero had to be cut with the least gameplay disruption, she’s a top candidate.
