Marvel Rivals fans, buckle up — we’ve got a wave of new content on the horizon, from a competitive-ready game mode to developer teases about future collaborations, esports skins, and hero plans for the next year.

Resource Rumble – The Next Competitive Mode

Launching August 22, Resource Rumble is set to debut on the brand-new Clintar: Throne of Null map. The dev team confirmed it will first arrive in Quick Match for testing and feedback before making its way into the competitive pool.

Unlike wacky LTMs like Auto Chess, Resource Rumble is a serious, objective-focused mode. While exact details are still under wraps, it’s drawing comparisons to Overwatch 2’s Flashpoint, where teams fight for rotating capture zones that award points over time.

Inside the Throne of Null Map

Leaks from XOX Leak reveal:

  • Underground setting in the Clintar core, where Null sits on his throne.
  • Environment preview spotted in Blade’s store skin art.
  • Prop models include massive skeletons — possibly dragons — adding to the eerie vibe.

The biggest twist? Null will appear as an NPC, complete with chilling in-game voice lines (voiced by Michael Scott). Whether he’ll be a stationary throne presence or an active part of the map is unclear, but his interactions will trigger during matches.

Infinity Crisis – A Bigger Game Mode in the Works

Still a few seasons away, Infinity Crisis looks like a capture-the-flag style mode — possibly mixed with PvE elements.

  • Involves capturing crystals and returning them to base.
  • Includes a Kraken boss with attack and death animations.
  • Set on a new Hydra Hiveworld map.

Files also show a brood-like insectoid creature, hinting at thematic synergy with the leaked vanguard hero Hive. Hive’s abilities — Deadly Parasite, Painful Lashing, and Accelerated Transformation — suggest he’ll fit perfectly with the map’s swarm aesthetic.

More Marvel Game Collaborations

Following the PS5 Spider-Man suit, the devs teased more crossovers with upcoming Marvel games, which could include:

  • EA’s Iron Man
  • Insomniac’s Wolverine
  • Marvel’s Blade

Esports Skins & Bundles

The dev team is exploring esports bundles where profits are evenly split among all participating teams, not just the biggest names. Grand finals bundles could also add to prize pools or reward champions/runners-up.

While no system is locked in, one proposed idea is team-color variants of existing skins, rather than cluttering the store with generic esports designs.

Roadmap Locked for the Next 12 Months

Marvel Rivals already has its hero, map, and lore content planned until next year. Hero production takes roughly 12 months from concept to release, meaning many of the leaks we’ve seen are already well into development.

When asked about Deadpool, the devs wouldn’t confirm if he’s on the year-long release schedule — only telling fans to “stay tuned.”

Small Leak – New Moods Incoming

Datamining found new “moods” coming to the store:

  • A Scarlet Witch mood
  • A sad Luna Snow mood
  • An adorable Cloak & Dagger mood

The Big Picture

Between Resource Rumble entering competitive play, Infinity Crisis looming in the distance, and the devs’ heavy commitment to future content, Marvel Rivals is clearly in full expansion mode.
