We know that Marvel superheroes don’t really blend well with horse racing. Yes, the universe has produced a couple of horses, but they are often mythological with wings, not actually Thoroughbreds.

But this doesn’t mean that we cannot compare the Marvel Rival roster of heroes in an actual race, right?

So, let’s picture a strange but entertaining scenario. Instead of a traditional field of racehorses that are lining up at the starting gate, the competitors are heroes from Marvel Rivals. Who’d you place your money on?

The Rules of the Race

Since most of the Marvel Heroes have different pros and cons and are not actually designed to be as fast as possible, we need to establish some ground rules.

So, let’s imagine a standard horse racing distance, 1 ¼ miles (10 furlongs), just like the Kentucky Derby 2026. Bettors know that this is one of the biggest racing spectacles of the year, and they are already researching which horse has the biggest potential. So, this makes it a perfect starting point for a Marvel superhero race.

The track is dirt, the starting gates open at the same time, and each hero has to rely primarily on their speed and mobility abilities. So, no smashing or blowing stuff up.

We have to agree that flying, hitting, or using special abilities can be unfair for the race, right? So, instead, we’ll assume characters use their natural movement skills and athletic abilities to run the race.

This will keep things competitive and balanced. Plus, it is more fun to analyze it this way. So, who’d win?

Spider-Man Would Be Hard to Beat

Spider-Man is an obvious contender to win the race, right? His agility and reflexes are legendary in the Marvel Universe. And even without web-swinging, Spider-Man moves very quickly thanks to his enhanced strength and coordination.

Plus, he is athletic and can probably run faster than the Hulk

We all know that his reaction speed borders on superhuman levels, just because of his famous “spider-sense.” But what does this mean? Well, it means that he can react almost instantly to obstacles or sudden changes. And we are damn sure that he is getting off the starting line the quickest.

He might not be the fastest hero in a starting sprint, but his ability to maintain momentum puts him near the front of the pack.

Black Panther Would Be a Serious Contender

Next, we have Black Panther. T’Challa’s physical abilities are enhanced by the heart-shaped herb, which eventually gives him strength, speed, and stamina that are beyond normal human limits. In Marvel comics and films. He’s often shown sprinting faster than many other superheroes.

But the most important thing is that Black Panther combines raw speed with incredible endurance. Horse races are not won in the first few seconds. The question here is who can maintain the top speed right down to the finish line, and Black Panther is definitely a contender for that.

That kind of controlled power fits Black Panther’s fighting style perfectly.

Captain America

Do you remember the scene when Thanos came to Wakanda and Captain America faced the entire army alongside Black Panther? Well, they were both running as fast as possible right into the fight, and to be honest, they both seemed equal in terms of speed.

Captain America has superhuman abilities without the use of any enhancements. He is fast, strong, and athletic. Plus, in Marvel movies, we’ve seen Steve Rodgers do casual runs in the morning, so there is a good chance that he is a natural sprinter.

If I were you, I’d place money on Captain America. Plus, he has been around for hundreds of years, just like horse racing. So, he has experience on his side.

Storm Could Control the Conditions

Storm presents a fascinating wildcard.

Her mutant ability allows her to manipulate the weather, which technically could influence the entire race. Imagine strong tailwinds pushing her forward or a sudden rainstorm turning the track muddy for everyone else.

But if we assume she plays fair and sticks to basic movement abilities, Storm would still be a solid competitor. She’s an experienced fighter with strong athletic ability and excellent balance.

Still, without using her full powers, she might struggle to keep up with the faster ground-based heroes.

Hulk

Okay, bear with us. We know that Hulk might not be an obvious choice, but let’s think about this for a second. The guy has explosive speed, and he covers ground faster than other heroes just because he has a huge leg span.

Of course, controlling that power might be the tricky part. As we all know, horse racing requires a lot more than raw power. So, in order for Hulk to be a contender to win the race, he needs to maintain that speed for the entire race.

One thing is for sure. This superhero race will be even more unpredictable than horse racing events like the Kentucky Derby. But that’s exactly what makes it fun, right?
