Blade confirmed for Marvel Rivals Season 3.5

Marvel Rivals 3 have been waiting, and it’s now official: Marvel Rivals Season 3 update Blade is joining the roster on August 8 in Season 3.5. Confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con, Blade is classified as a three-star duelist hero, not a vanguard as some speculated. This makes him the second duelist introduced this season, and while the seasons are shorter, this still feels like a solid addition for fast-paced combat lovers.

Blade’s character Marvel Rivals Season 3 update bio describes him as half-human, half-vampire. As night falls, Eric Brooks hunts his enemies using the sword of Dracula. His visual design matches previous leaks perfectly, giving players a dark and refined vampire aesthetic. His lobby select animation was also revealed, showing him spinning with his dual Dracula swords, one glowing red, adding polish and flair to his character introduction.

Blade’s full ability kit breakdown

Blade’s abilities were also showcased in more detail through leaked gameplay and official concept images. His primary weapon is a shotgun attack called Hunter Shot. It fires a long projectile that explodes at mid-range into pellets, similar to Roadhog’s alternate fire in Overwatch. This weapon rewards precision and distance control, dealing maximum damage at the right range.

Another key ability is Bloodline Liberation. Activating it transforms Blade into a vampire form for eight seconds, allowing him to see enemies through walls, and grants lifesteal when dealing damage. However, teammates cannot heal him during this time. His melee attacks also change, becoming slower but likely more powerful, giving the player a more aggressive edge in fights.

Blade’s right-click ability, Damage Blockade, allows him to hold Dracula’s sword forward to block incoming damage from the front. This does not make him invulnerable, but it significantly reduces damage taken, likely down to about 30 percent. The ultimate ability was also previewed, showing Blade dashing in a straight line, damaging all enemies in his path and leaving slash effects behind that deal continuous damage up to 500 over three seconds. Blade’s four-hit melee combo was also confirmed, giving players a rhythmic close-range attack option.

New skins and cosmetics in Season 3.5

Season 3.5 is not only bringing Blade but also several exciting skins. Marvel just revealed a symbiote-themed comic series launching July 31. This hints at incoming symbiote skins for characters like Jeff the Landshark, Squirrel Girl, Rocket Raccoon, and Blade. Most notably, we get our first look at a Venomized The Thing skin, highly anticipated by fans and expected to release during Season 3.5.

In addition, Marvel Rivals Season 3 update more swimsuit skins are confirmed. A new Johnny Storm (Human Torch) swimsuit skin was shown featuring a flaming shirt, blue shorts, and even a mini Jeff the Landshark on his belt. Socks and sandals finish off the bold look.
